That’s it. You’re all good to go
That’s kind of all you need to know about Birdie. It’s as simple as it looks.
Still hungry for more details?
You really don’t have to keep on reading, but we won’t stop you from geeking out on technical information:
How does it work?
Birdie® is detecting the CO2-level in your room every 10 min.If the CO2-level exceeds 1000ppm, Birdie® will drop down. When Birdie® is hanging down it detects the CO2-level every 5 min. the first 30 min. and then every 10 min. after that. If the CO2-level goes below 800ppm, Birdie® will automatically pop-up into upright position. After Birdie® repositions to upright it will enter a cool-down period of 2 hours, in order to save power and because it’s rare that the CO2-level will exceed 1000ppm within 2 hours after ventilation. If you wish to get an exact detection of the current CO2-level, simply just lift and replace Birdie® on the wall-mount. - this will reset Birdie® and detect the CO2-level immediately.
How do I charge it?
Birdie® is battery-driven and will last +6 months on a full charge. If you don’t want to think about charging it, you can install it with the USB-C plugged-in permanently.
The LED-lamp on the backside of the bird is only an indicator for battery-status. Red = Charging. Green = Fully charged.
Where should I place the bird?
As a rule of thumb one Birdie® should be able to cover a room up to 150m².We typically recommend to install the bird in the room of your home where you spend most of your time. We recommend you to install the bird in a height of 1,5-2,5m

Canairi® ━
A Fresh Air
Monitor™
App, lights and sounds
None — Unlike other air quality monitors, Canairi® will let you know when to ventilate your home without the use of annoying light, sound or phone notifications. Canairi® stands out by using storytelling and intuitive design as nudging mechanisms to encourage the user to take action on their indoor climate.
CO2 Sensor
CO2 is a global standard for measuring indoor air quality. That’s why we have chosen a certified carbon dioxide (CO2) sensor to measure the concentration of carbon dioxide gas in your home, office or school. Even though there is a ton of particles that can be measured, we believe that monitoring the CO2-level is enough to sustain a healthy indoor climate, as most particles will correlate to CO2 and eventually benefit from opening the windows.
Battery
The rechargeable battery will last for at least 3 months and takes 4 hours to charge fully. You can also choose to keep Canairi wired up, if you don’t want to think about charging it.

An Invisible Problem
Did you know that 90% of your life is spend indoors? — Very often in poor air quality, which increases the risk of asthma, headache, allergies and sleep disorders. Just in the EU, 80 million homes is estimated to have a poor indoor climate.
So what to do about it? Expert suggests that one of the best solution is to simply open the windows. Health Authorities worldwide even recommend you to do it 2-3 times a day. Canairi is a friendly reminder to a healthy indoor climate.
Why a bird?
Back in the days, mine workers would bring a canary with them in the coal mine, to detect toxic gasses. When the bird fainted, it was time to get out. With a built-in CO2-sensor, Canairi® works exactly the same way - but in your home.
When the air quality is poor the bird will drop, until you open your windows and bring it back to life.
The Founders
Andreas Kofoed Sørensen (left) &Hans Høite Augustenborg (right) are the Co-Founders of Canairi® & childhood friends.
Hans and Andreas are childhood friends and classmates through primary- and highschool. Besides playing badminton and hanging out, they both had a love of entrepreneurship and actually ran a small company when they were just 12 years old. The company was a lawn mowing subscription service. It actually went really well until they found out how boring it was to mow all the neighbourhood's lawns.
After high school they chose different paths, Andreas is now a M. Sc. in Finance & Accountning and Hans is an award-winning Art Director & Designer. They have always been determined to combine their different skill sets in a future project, and guess what?! The future is now! — and the project is Canairi®..
