Colton Engelbrecht is easily one of the greatest young powerlifting prospects currently, as he often shares impressive training lifts on Instagram. However, he recently put all of his hard work to use at the 2024 WPC Beast Mode Power Wars, which took place on June 8th in Germiston, South Africa. There, Colton managed to set an impressive 1,120-kilogram (2,469.2-pound) Raw W/Wraps Total U110KG All-Time World Record.
Colton Engelbrecht’s Full Performance
Squat
The first event that Colton Engelbrecht took on was the Squat, where he decided to open up with 415 kilograms (914.9 pounds). After seeing how fast it moved, Colton decided to try a 4x his bodyweight squat on the second attempt. So, he managed to lift 440 kilograms (970 pounds).
Colton Engelbrecht also attempted to squat 450 kilograms (992 pounds), but was unable to do so. Regardless, his 440-kilogram (970-pound) squat marked a 25-kilogram (55.1-pound) Competition PR.

Bench Press
Moving onto the bench press, Colton Engelbrecht immediately displayed impressive improvement, as his first attempt at 225 kilograms (496 pounds) was already heavier than his previous Competition PR.
However, he had plenty left in the tank, as his second attempt came out to 235 kilograms (518 pounds), and it was still nowhere near his max. So, Colton loaded 245 kilograms (540.1 pounds) for his final attempt, which was once again smooth.

Deadlift
Although he had incredible performances in the first two events, Colton Engelbrecht still had to wrap up the competition with a heavy deadlift as well. No one doubted him though, and he fulfilled the expectations, opening up at 415 kilograms (914.9 pounds).

Colton then moved on to 435 kilograms (959 pounds) for his second attempt, which secured him the Total World Record and yet another Competition PR.
Surprisingly, Colton Engelbrecht nearly locked out a 460-kilogram (1,014.1-pound) deadlift on his final attempt. Unfortunately, although he was capable of lifting the weight, his grip gave out in the final seconds of the pull. Therefore, Colton will likely improve in his next appearance.

Colton Engelbrecht has taken part in 15 sanctioned powerlifting competitions and won 14 of them. So, being just 23-years-old, Colton has already built an impressive resume, which now also features an All-Time World Record. He also has big hopes for the future, making it clear that he is on track to become one of the greatest powerlifters in modern history.
