Critics Consensus

As bizarrely hilarious as it is insightful, Finders Keepers is a stranger-than-fiction gem of a documentary that transcends its oddball trappings.

Audience Member Bizarre story. Not sure why it was made into a documentary. Rated 2/5 Stars • Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member i mean... what a ridiculous story, lol. i can't believe this actually happened. honestly, the guy who "bought it" should've got to keep it. how do you just "store" your own severed leg in a grill & then forget about it. i mean, good grief. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member I stumbled across this gem late one night and all I could think as I watched was "wow, how have I not heard of this". I am a NC native and at first I feared this was just another rednexploitation job to make my home state look like the land of the toothless hillbillies. While it does have some of the aforementioned, it also has a much more gripping and introspective side as it delves into the human condition and a kaleidoscope of real emotion. This doc sounds like a one trick pony, like it would be one long drawn out joke over the "foot feud" but it is much more. Once you start you won't be able to look away. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Two hicks fighting over a leg. Nothing to see here. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member I never thought a documentary about a foot would make me feel all these different emotions. Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member The first half of this documentary just makes you laugh on top of your lungs and the other half almost makes you cry. Apart from great provision of information by the makers of this film, the characters grow on you and in the end you're left with a touching story that sticks with you.
